TDC’s beginnings were humble when, in 1961, a group of individuals came together with a shared goal of attracting and retaining Canadian companies to this region. It made sense, after all; with our location so close to our northern neighbors. Looking across the border, these creators of what was to become TDC saw an opportunity for growth and economic sustainability for our local community and the potential for incoming businesses to the region to expand with our support.
This wish of our founders is one we are proud to continue today.
“We provide space, and we provide a service around that space,” says David Champagne, President and CEO of TDC today. “TDC to me was the originator of industrial growth in Plattsburgh and the region. Our whole goal is to create jobs.”
“Our anticipation is to bring a company in and help them grow; bring them in on a small footprint, maybe bring them into a larger footprint. Keep expanding and growing, and hopefully bring in suppliers that can support them.”
More than sixty years later, our mission is still the same: To foster an environment that creates and retains quality jobs and investments in the community. We have always been here for the community and our dedication remains as steadfast today as in 1961.
