North Country Manufacturing Day had a record breaking turn out, even with the first major snowstorm of the year. This was the 10th annual North Country MFG Day held at Clinton Community College. TDC works closely with ETS and other members of the planning committee to ensure participants are engaged and inspired as they begin to think of future education and/or careers. 10 years ago, MFG Day was created to inspire the next generation of, manufacturers and showcases the many rewarding career opportunities that exist in today’s modern manufacturing space. The event to continues to grow.
On November 16, students from Clinton, Franklin and Essex counties were able to meet local leading manufacturers including Beta Technologies, Vapor Stone Rail Systems, Nova Bus, Michelin-Camso, Norsk Titanium, Mold-Rite Plastics. Students experienced a flight simulator within an Airstream from Beta Technologies, virtual welding, battle robots with Michelin, and a tour of the IAM and CCC campus. Students were also able to polish team-building skills in escape rooms by The Strand.
“TDC is thrilled to be a part of this event every year. 2022 saw a huge shift in the way Manufacturing Day was approached, reaching more students than ever, engaging them through unique activities and employer-driven experiences, utilizing more of Clinton Community College's campus, and creating a phenomenal hands-on day of STEM career exploration.” —Danielle King, Director of Business and Workforce Development
