It is hard to believe 2022 is coming to an end. It has been another great year at TDC with many things to be thankful for. As I look back on the year, there are many accomplishments that we can be proud of. All of our accomplishments are the result of a total team effort. This includes the staff and Board, who work together to make the region a great place to live, work, and play.
At TDC, we focused on creating quality jobs for the region. In order to accomplish this, we not only provide top notch facilities we also provide support to all our tenants enabling them to be the best they can be in their daily endeavors. This includes support on workforce development through training grants, workforce round tables, and connectivity to community support networks as needed. These combined efforts are what qualifies TDC as the Premier Industrial Park in the region. As our tenants continue to grow and their needs change TDC will be there to partner with them in their journey.
During the year TDC maintained a high occupancy rate with it looking like we will end the year at 100% occupancy. As we say at TDC 100% occupancy is both good and bad. Our goal is to provide space for growth and job creation. In order to continue supplying space we initiated a new build and are halfway through the construction of a 60,000 sq ft facility at our Banker Road Industrial Park. Just like last year we signed a long-term lease for the building during the early stages of construction. A long term tenant, Medisca, will be taking occupancy of the building in the spring. This will free up smaller facilities within our parks and hopefully provide space for new businesses in the region.
This year we started a new Groundbreakers campaign. The campaign is designed to highlight individuals working in the region that have not only realized individual success but also demonstrate the possibilities of working in the region. The hope is that these individuals and their stories can help inspire others to see the many career possibilities in the region.
Last year, we officially launch our new website and updated logo. This year, we expanded our reach into various digital sites, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube giving us broader exposure. We also started refreshing our Park signs to reflect our new logos and name. Stayed tuned for the replacement of our Monument sign on Route 3 in 2023 with our new colors and logo. We hope we are connecting with you, and you routinely interact with our website and newsletter and find them both to be positive tools to help us move our business forward.
On that note, I want to recognize our board members who departed from our board in 2022. They are Rick Grant and Rich Knight. Both have given so much to our organization and will be sorely missed. While they will no longer be on the board they will always be included in our story of success and part of our family.
Best wishes for you in 2023,
President and CEO, David F. Champagne III
