Global Pandemic aside, TDC has had a busy year. While some of our original goals, objectives, and BHAG’s had to be adjusted slightly, we were still able to accomplish quite a lot during challenging times. Here’s a quick look at all we were able to accomplish this year.
Entrance to TDC’s temporary office location on Rt. 3 in Plattsburgh.
We started the year off on a positive note. Our staff, complete with some new faces, started the year moving from one office location to another. In January, TDC transitioned from our space in Banker Road Industrial Park. to a temporary location on Rt. 3. This was done to allow one of our tenants, Northern Culinary Brands, to expand their operations into our former office space. That was the first of two expansions in our park for the company. Their footprint is now covers the entirety of two buildings on Banker Road.
In February, we began publishing our newsletter on a monthly basis, with a fresh new look, incorporating a variety of original articles and local news features. We also had a great kick-off to a multi-year workforce development initiative. Prior to the pandemic impacting our region, we were able to host a round-table event with our tenants to learn more about what resources would be most helpful to them in recruiting and maintaining a quality workforce. We have since pivoted our efforts to better address the issues presented with the pandemic, however we are optimistic that we will be able to leverage the conversations had in February to move forward with some programming when it is appropriate to do so.
In March, our staff transitioned to working remotely as necessitated by the Governor. From our own workstations, we put our heads together to figure out the best way to collaborate remotely and still maintain a high-level of customer service to our tenants. We are proud to have been able to keep everything running smoothly while operating under new guidelines for social distancing and remote work.
Throughout the spring, we worked diligently to stay educated on the constantly evolving policies, mandates, guidelines, and local, state, and federal resources available to businesses to maintain operations throughout the unprecedented times that the pandemic brought on. We worked to gather and share information in a way that was digestible to our tenants and local business community.

In May, site work began for the construction of our new 60,000 SF Industrial Building and TDC’s new office space, designed and constructed with the help of RMS Architects and Luck Builders. As we began working on our newest buildings, we completed the sale of our Building #1 to Hartson Total Opening. This additional space allowed them to expand their current operations in the region. Another well established business in Plattsburgh, SterRX, expanded their operations into our Building #6, bringing our building inventory to almost full occupancy.
This summer we expanded our board by three new members, welcoming them officially at our full board meeting in September. TDC welcomed KHROME into Air Industrial Park in September, which was welcome news given the difficulties presented by the ongoing northern border closure.
This fall we recognized our current longest tenure tenant, MEDISCA, by surprising their staff with donuts, coffee, and cider, celebrating 25 years as a TDC tenant.

If you’ve been down Industrial Boulevard lately, you’ve probably noticed some great new investment. Along with TDC’s new office space and 60,000 SF spec building under construction, Norsk Titanium and Monaghan Medical are also moving into their new state-of-the-art facilities. The addition of these new businesses and buildings on Industrial Boulevard is just the beginning of the expansion of the park onto the former Clinton County Airport. TDC, the Town of Plattsburgh, and Clinton County are all working together to fund the expansion of the roadways and infrastructure to support additional opportunities for business growth in the park.
This month, TDC moved into our new office space on Industrial Boulevard. If you haven’t already, pleas update your records to our new address, 109 Industrial Blvd., Plattsburgh, NY 12901.
What you may not have known is over the course of this year, TDC has been working on re-branding our organization to be updated for our 60th anniversary. Our goal was to refresh our look to remain prominent in our community and establish that we are planning to be around and relevant for another 60 years. We are so excited to share our new look with you… look for updates and announcements early in 2021.
It certainly has been a year to remember, but we’re already looking forward to new successes in 2021. To stay up to date on all things TDC, connect with us on social media. Find us on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
